Lithion Battery, a division of Lithion Power Group, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Valence branded battery module manufacturing business from Lithium Werks B.V.
Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Austin, TX, Valence designs, manufacturers and markets lithium iron phosphate (“LFP”) modules under Battery Council International standards and form factors. Valence’s standard form factor modules, coupled with an industry-leading battery management system (“BMS”), provide a plug and play solution for the electrification of a wide variety of end uses across numerous sectors. The modular design accommodates both large and small applications with an easy to implement installation which is often 40-50% smaller than comparable conventional lead acid options.
The Valence acquisition accelerates Lithion’s previously announced Lithium-ion expansion strategy by providing a suite of modules products and industry-leading BMS technology which will significantly enhance Lithion Battery’s custom pack offerings. The acquisition also includes Valence’s established customer base in North American and Europe, and its talented sales, engineering and operations team. Tyler Armstrong, Lithion Battery President & CEO, said “we are excited to integrate the Valance module business to accelerate our expansion plans for Lithion Battery and provide Valence with support required to meet increasing demand for their best in class products from customers.”
TriWest Capital Partners, Lithion Battery’s private equity partner, provided funding for the acquisition of Valence.
